Loving Nanny/Mother’s Helper Needed in Balmain, NSW

A warm and loving family in Balmain is looking for a nurturing and experienced nanny/mother’s helper to support their three children (6-year-old boy, 4-year-old girl, and 1-year-old boy). The role involves assisting mum, particularly with their youngest child during the day, and supporting the afternoon and evening routines. The ideal nanny will be calm, caring, respectful, and adaptable, with a deep understanding of child development. Experience or knowledge of the Montessori philosophy or the RIE Educaring Approach is highly desirable. The family values a nanny who is fully present, engaged, and responsive to their child’s needs, creating a warm and stimulating environment without reliance on screens. A proactive attitude and creativity in planning play-based learning experiences are essential. Days/hours are as follows: Monday 1:30pm to 7:30pm Tuesday 9:00am to 2:00pm Wednesday 1:30pm to 7:30pm Thursday 1:30pm to 9:30pm Friday 9:00am to 2:00pm  

Responsibilities

• Follow the children’s established routines
• Plan and implement age-appropriate play-based learning experiences
• School drop-offs and pickups, as well as transporting children to extracurricular activities (one school is within walking distance, the other is a 10-minute drive)
• Assist with light household tasks, including washing/folding clothes, watering plants, and helping children prepare for school bags for the next day
• Prepare healthy, nutritious meals for the children, including lunch boxes and dinner

Requirements

•  Full Driver’s licence required (own car preferred but flexible for the right candidate)
• Commitment to a long-term role to foster stability and strong bonds with the children.
• Prior experience in childcare and/or Qualifications in Early Childhood Education
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment.
• WWCC number, First Aid, Police Check, and three contactable references.
• ABN or willing to obtain it.
