The family is looking for a warm, mature and thoughtful nanny who will build a secure and trusting relationship with their little boy and become a valued part of their family. They would love someone who takes the time to observe and understand him as an individual and approaches everyday care with respect and sensitivity. The family has established routines and approaches that work well for their son and are important to them. They are looking for a nanny who will respect and support these, providing consistency and continuity of care. Open communication and collaboration are particularly important, with the nanny and parents working together to support their son’s holistic development and wellbeing. The ideal nanny will have a strong understanding of child development and recognise the importance of giving children the time and space to explore, play and develop at their own pace. They would love someone who provides a calm and nurturing environment while encouraging their son’s natural curiosity, autonomy and confidence. They are looking for someone proactive and creative who enjoys planning engaging, age-appropriate experiences based on their son’s interests, both at home and through outings in the community. Mum works from home, so the nanny will need to be comfortable with this arrangement while confidently taking responsibility for their son’s care throughout the day. The family has a strong preference for a French-speaking nanny. The family values a screen-free environment and would appreciate a nanny who keeps personal phone use to a minimum while caring for their son, using their phone primarily when necessary to communicate with the parents. Respect for the family’s home and privacy is very important to them. The successful nanny will be sincere, trustworthy, adaptable and an excellent communicator. There will also be opportunities for additional babysitting hours.

Responsibilities

Daily Care: Follow and support the child’s established routine while providing warm, responsive and respectful care. Learning Through Play: Create thoughtful, age-appropriate experiences that encourage uninterrupted play, exploration, problem-solving and growing independence. Outings: Organise enriching outings to swimming, playgroups, classes, parks, museums and other age-appropriate activities. Healthy Cooking: Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the child. Child-Related Duties: Keep the child’s bedroom, play spaces and belongings tidy and organised, including the child’s laundry and cleaning and packing away after meals and activities.

Requirements

ong-Term Commitment: Seeking someone who is looking for a long-term position and wants to become a consistent and trusted presence in their son’s life over the coming years. Experience & Skills: Strong professional experience caring for infants and toddlers, with a background in Early Childhood Education and a deep understanding of child development. A driver’s licence is highly desirable. Flexibility is essential for this role. Current WWCC, First Aid Certificate, National Police Check and a minimum of three contactable references.
