A warm and easygoing family in Paddington NSW is looking for an experienced, nurturing and proactive nanny for their curious and energetic 1 year old daughter, with a new baby due in December.

The family is looking for an experienced, caring, nurturing and proactive nanny who will become a valued part of their family and build a strong, long term relationship with their children. An ideal nanny would be attentive, warm, playful, creative, safety conscious, adaptable and reliable, with excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and a deep understanding of child development. Strong experience caring for infants, toddlers and young children is essential. The role will initially focus on caring for their curious and energetic 1 year old daughter. Later this year, the nanny will provide additional support to mum during her third trimester and, following the arrival of their new baby in December, support the family with the care of both children. The family values emotionally present, responsive and respectful care and would love a nanny who takes the time to observe and understand their daughter as an individual, while supporting her natural development, growing independence and confidence through play, exploration and age appropriate learning experiences. They also value a screen free environment for their children and would appreciate a nanny who shares this philosophy. Proactivity is particularly important to the family. They would love someone who naturally notices what needs doing, plans engaging age appropriate activities and enjoys taking their daughter on fun outings to parks, playgrounds, museums, libraries, playgroups, classes and other activities. The successful candidate will be welcomed into a warm and beautiful home environment where flexibility and open communication are valued. Some occasional evening and weekend care will be required, with at least one week’s notice whenever possible. The family would also love someone who is open to discussing the possibility of accompanying them on holidays.

Responsibilities

Daily Care: Follow and support the children’s routines, including naps, bottles, bathing and other aspects of their daily care. Educational Activities: Plan and implement engaging age appropriate learning experiences that support their development, curiosity and confidence. Fun Outings: Organise and accompany the children on outings to museums, libraries, parks, playgrounds, playgroups, classes and other age appropriate activities. Healthy Cooking: Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children. Light Housework: Assist with light household chores to keep their home tidy.

Requirements

Long Term Commitment: Seeking someone who wants to become a consistent, trusted and valued part of their family and build a strong relationship with their children over the coming years. Experience & Skills: A minimum of 3+ years of professional experience working with children, with strong experience caring for infants, toddlers and young children. A deep understanding of child development, excellent communication skills and the ability to provide warm, nurturing, responsive and developmentally appropriate care. Early Childhood Education background preferred. A bilingual nanny would be desirable but is not essential. A driver’s licence is highly desirable. Current WWCC, First Aid Certificate, National Police Check and a minimum of three contactable Australian based child related references.
